Dear Parent and Student:
Thank you for choosing Harry's Driving School for your driving education needs. Our classroom is located at 18 Oak Street, Derry, N.H., at the L.O.O.F Building. We are only in the office Monday and Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 pm during class time. Please do not leave mail outside the door, please deliver to the address at the top of this document.
The cost of this course is $600.00. All fees are non refundable and this application must be accompanied with a deposit of $100.00. This charge covers class room instruction of 30 hours, behind the wheel instruction of 10 hours with 6 additional observation hours. The parent is responsible for providing 40 hours of driving instruction with the student in which we will provide a driving log that you will need to surrender to the Division of Motor Vehicles when you go with the student to take the state examination. The remaining balance of $500.00 must be paid on the first night of classes or other arrangement must be made prior to. If at any time during the class the price of gasoline exceeds $3.50 per gallon a onetime surcharge fee of $20.00 will need to be paid before the end of the course. You must remit a copy of his/her birth certificate to us).
The child must turn 16 yrs old by the last day of class.
We will provide the books and supplies to the student. The student and the parent are responsible for returning loaned books to the school when the course is completed in the condition as received. A charge of $50.00 per book will be charged and will need to be paid before the class commences if they are damaged or lost.
The student is required to attend all the classes. It is state mandated that the student attend all classes on time, there are no exceptions. Failure to comply will result in class expulsion with no refund. We require that the student complete all assignments, participate in classroom discussion, and pass our final examination with a grade of no less than 80% or better. The instructor reserves the right to dismiss any student from the course based on behavior issues an NO refund will be given. Proper behavior is mandatory at all times.
In the event that a student cannot keep an in car lesson appointment, the student must cancel the lesson no later than 7:00 am of the morning of the lesson. This is a driving lesson or observation; both are considered in car lessons. Failure to cancel an in car lesson in advance will result in a charge of $50.00 per hour and must be paid before the next classroom lesson. If for some reason the instructor can't make the in car instruction or classroom instruction the student will be called.
After
successful completion of the driver education program, students will
receive a green certificate showing they have completed the driver's
education course. They must bring this certificate, a parental consent
slip, the license fee of $50.00, their birth certificate, their social
security card, and another form of identification, alone with the driving
log to a D M V location listed below, between the hours of 8:15 AM and
3:00 PM; Monday through Friday.

Salem - Monday through Friday
The
graduated license allows the new driver to drive with only one other
person under 25 for the first six months, unless they are a family member.
Please
save this letter until the end of class so you can refer to it at that
time.
If
your son/daughter is coded and we are aware of it, we can better assist
them with their learning.
As
required by New Hampshire law, please sign and return the following
consent slip. This slip must be returned before the first behind-the-wheel
lesson.
